Although we postponed the gravel ride to next year, June 19, 2021, let's do what we can to build on the fantastic foundation we have established at www.ridearoundtherubies.com.
Yes, it has been a let-down (aka big bummer) to halt this year's event, but everything remains in place to update and share photos, experiences and training encouragement for folks who were looking forward to the ride as well as to those who may have been curious!
For the beginner - you have a whole year to train for this!!!!!
For the more experienced cyclist - now you know what we are 'all about' and you and your friends are welcome to visit, train and prepare for an event that is sure to please!
For the elite cyclists - this event will be like the "Tour de France" for locals. We have an entire community ... many who have never observed or experienced competitive cycling.
I still remember the excitement as I attended my very first cycling event. I was overwhelmed with admiration for the athletes, fascinated as I learned all I DID NOT know about bicycles, nutrition, training and devotion, and how family/fan friendly the whole event was. I have been hooked ever since!
We encourage you and your friends to publicly share your enthusiasm. Your personal experiences will help us fine-tune the Ride Around the Rubies: Gravel Ride on June 19, 2021!
Warm regards to everyone,

See the Ruby Mountains like you've never seen them before! Join us on the summer solstice, June 19, 2021, for the Ride Around the Rubies. This one-day "Gravel Ride" cycling event begins and ends in scenic Lamoille, Nevada, guiding cyclists around the beautiful Ruby Mountains over their choice of a 36, 62, or full 117 mile loop on pavement, gravel, and dirt roads. *Check out route descriptions for actual GPS distances and elevations.
We have added a 20 mile ride for two people for the price of 1 registration! This event will start at 9:00 am, and the cost is $80. Any child 12 years old or younger can ride this 20 mile loop for free! (You must be between the ages of 5 and 12 years old by event day.)
Proceeds from this event support youth leadership development, exchange programs, local and global community improvement projects, and programs that encourage healthy behaviors and inspirational service to others. Visit Rotary Club of Elko Desert Sunrise for more information.
Please consider supporting this unique community fundraiser in some way. Opportunities to get
